THE IDAHO STATESMAN — M2M Communications has signed an exclusive ten year agreement with the world’s largest manufacturer of irrigation equipment and has introduced two new products for pivot irrigation systems.
Growers now have another option for monitoring pivots, as Valmont Irrigation, the manufacturer of Valley Irrigation products, introduces the cams Tracker & Tracker SP. "This product allows growers with any brand of pivot or type of pivot panel to be able to monitor what's happening in multiple fields," according to Valmont Product Manager Jake LaRue.
M2M Communications is a Boise engineering firm specializing in wireless remote monitoring and control products and services. They provide solutions for several industries including irrigation, water and wastewater, natural gas pipelines, pumping stations, crop storage and emergency generators.

"This product allows growers with any brand of pivot or type of pivot panel to be able to monitor what's happening in multiple fields," according to Valmont Product Manager Jake LaRue. "The best customer for this device is one who has pivots that are spread out and has inherited pivots of different brands with land purchases."The Tracker alerts the grower of pivot shutdowns with an alarm message via phone or Internet," according to LaRue. "This saves lots of time driving to the fields to check pivots. It might be a way to get another year out of that older pivot, with a little insurance that the grower will know, very quickly, if there's a problem." Valley already has another product for remote monitoring and control of pivots, the Pocket Pro. The Tracker helps Valley to complete the communications product line, offering an entry level product for this purpose.
